Pakistan this year in 2025 participated in Champions Trophy and showed a very poor performance. It has not only last a bad impression on cricket world history but it’s one point gained in last three matches was not enough to get them to the semi-final. Pakistan’s poor performance gave the chance to critics to criticize them. Pakistan’s former captain and famous bowler Wasim Akram was also very disappointed by the poor performance of Pakistani team.
In his point of view it was because of poor selection of players and he even called this selection a ‘purchi’ culture. Wasim Akram even showed his disappointment by speaking rudely when someone asked him if Pakistan was playing their final match for pride. Wasim Akram shouted and said “what pride “? Wasim Akram was so disappointed and showed his anger because of the early elimination of the team from the tournament. In the Pakistan and Bangladesh match both the teams had a chance to gain one point and secured their position in the tournament but unfortunately, weather had other plans and washed out the match without gaining any benefit.
The media questioned by the former bowler Wasim Akram also became a source of conflict “I can’t forget that Waqar Younis got fired a few times,” Akram said in response to criticism from individuals such as Yograj Singh. He has been disrespected by you, and I cannot stand it.
This has shown how much the former cricketer was disappointed by the performance of the Pakistani team. Pakistani former players and fans had great expectation from the team but unfortunately the team had not shown their best and eliminated soon.
